Trabuco Consulting was founded on a simple principle: community safety is most effective when it is designed into the environment, not reacted to after problems emerge.
With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety, John brings a practical, real-world understanding of how environments influence behavior, risk, and community trust.
His background includes frontline and management law enforcement experience, combined with advanced academic training in Organizational Leadership, Human Services, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED, along with over a decade of community-based program and service experience.
This combination of operational experience and leadership perspective allows Trabuco Consulting to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application—helping cities, districts, and organizations make informed, practical decisions about safety and design.
John has received recognition for many of his community safety efforts from the International Chiefs of Police Association, the Orange County Human Relations Commission, the Violence Prevention Collation of Orange County, the Irvine Prevention Coalition, and the Irvine Police Department.
